The Lincolnshire Broadband Initiative has signed a deal with BT to roll out wireless symmetric (same speed both ways) broadband to small and medium-sized businesses throughout the county:
By March 2006 all large employment sites over five acres, such as industrial parks, will have access to the service, giving 70 per cent of small to medium-sized businesses in the area the ability to use symmetric broadband.
The Lincolnshire Broadband Initiative is a major project to bring advanced broadband to SMEs throughout the county. It provides a range of subsidies, grants and free advice for the countys businesses.
Once wireless broadband is available in the county, the Lincolnshire Broadband Initiative is aiming to offer connection subsidies to eligible businesses with a target of free connection and £99 monthly rental fee, ex-VAT.
Businesses are encouraged to register their interest via the website at http://www.onlincolnshire.net or get further information from broadband@lincolnshire.gov.uk or 01522 839564.
