Police Question BT Over Secret 2006/2007 Phorm Trials

The City of London police (CID) reportedly questioned BT during the week (Tuesday) as part of their investigation into the providers secret 2006 and 2007 Phorm trials (original news). The news confirms an earlier NoDPI report, which predicted that BT would "be questioned in early September."
The Register notes that police were understandably unable to provide any further information about the meeting, although a decision will soon be made concerning whether or not to open a formal investigation:

A spokeswoman for City of London Police said she was unable to provide any information on Tuesday's meeting because no decision has yet been taken on whether to formally investigate. It is thought senior officers will decide that within two weeks.
BT, which declined to comment today, has said it took legal advice that said running the trials without customer consent was legal. It has not detailed what the advice said, and data law experts have charged that it broke several criminal statutes.
