BT today announced new promotions designed to encourage UK gamers to take their consoles online. The offers include a free online gaming kit for new BT Yahoo! Broadband and BT Broadband subscribers:
This follows the recent introduction of a free router as standard across BTs broadband products . BT also announced joint marketing activity with game publishers that will further promote online console gaming.
The new online gaming kit offer, which starts today, will allow new subscribers to BT Yahoo! Broadband and BT Broadband the chance to claim either a special edition Xbox Live® Starter Kit including a Xbox copy of Tom Clancys Splinter Cell® (estimated street price £59.99) or a PlayStation® 2 Network Gaming Kit (recommended retail price £16.99) when they sign up. Providing Xbox and PlayStation 2 users with all the equipment they need to take their console online.
In addition to these new initiatives BT have announced joint PR, event and marketing activity with some of the worlds leading games publishers this Christmas including Activision, Konami, Midway Games, Take-Two, THQ, Ubisoft and Vivendi Universal Games on the launch of some of this years most anticipated new titles such as Call of Duty: Finest Hour, Pro Evolution Soccer 4, Mortal Kombat Deception, Robotech, WWE SmackDown! vs. RAW, Tom Clancys Ghost Recon 2, Men of Valor and Fight Club.
