It'll soon be almost a year since UK ISP Tiscali promised to resolve its much reported billing problems, yet despite this many people still complain about the same old problems.
These issues haven't gone away; customers simply got tired of repeating the same old complaints without any progress. However that's not the case for everybody.
VNUNet has reported on the story of Steve Bartlett, a Tiscali customer whom has had the experience of finding that the ISP never appears to bill him.
Interesting, especially since most of the complaints we receive regard how Tiscali takes more money than they should, sometimes for months after a person has physically unsubscribed from the service.
There's nothing really new here, however
VNUNet did get further than us and actually got a reply:
"We are aware of the haphazard collection of monies owed to us in the recent past, which we are in the process of updating to a monthly basis, but we now have no record of his payment details," a Tiscali spokeswoman told me.
"If Mr Bartlett wishes to send me his credit card details, we can ensure that the outstanding payments for December, January and February can be made straight away."
Mr Bartlett was less than impressed with this response. "They had my details in January but I will resend them," he said.So while most people are busy trying to get their money back, others actually want to pay. Tiscali's billing system certainly leaves something to be desired.
