New research from Strategy Analytics has found that 55% of European broadband users are willing to pay roughly 15Euros (around £10) per month to download legal music:
The new research from Strategy Analytics suggests that music companies are missing out on a Euro650 million market opportunity in Europe. Strategy Analytics' report, 'Online Music: Europe's Sounding Good,' has been released to subscribers to the Broadband Media and Communications advisory service.
Broadband users expressed considerably more interest in downloading music files than in other broadband entertainment services. Fully 63 percent were very or somewhat interested in this, compared to 41 percent who wanted streamed movie clips and 32 percent who were interested in playing games with other PC users.
The survey was conducted with users from seven different EU countries. Personally I prefer the pay-per-song method because there are only ever one or two new tracks, which you actually like, per month. More @ telecoms.com .
