Netscalibur calls for sanity in work place over web browsing
Netscalibur Web Monitor helps employees define clear parameters for Internet use
Web Monitor, a new service from Netscalibur, aims to reduce costly misunderstandings between employers and their staff over Internet access privileges. 25% of UK companies have already sacked at least one employee over inappropriate use of the Internet in the workplace, a response that costs an average of almost £4,000 per dismissal in handover and recruitment charges . Altogether over 9.3 million Britons have access to the Internet at work, and most of these use it at least occasionally for personal use. Netscaliburs new Web Monitor aims to curb the number of disputes that result in disciplinary action by helping to introduce and enforce clear policies on what constitutes reasonable personal use of a company resource.
Misunderstandings over what constitutes appropriate use of the Internet at work can be costly for all concerned. Roberto Bonanzinga, Vice President of Services and Marketing for Netscalibur comments. Employers worry about reduced productivity, while employees can end up paying the ultimate price the loss of their job.
Any tool that helps to better define the parameters of appropriate behaviour in the workplace is a bonus for business.
