Trc.NET has published a new report that accuses UK ISPs of costing small businesses money by being responsible for roughly half of all service and connectivity faults:
About 100 of the 500 directors surveyed said ISPs often take more than a day to resolve connectivity issues, while 60% believed they regularly experience problems with their internet service.
The Internet has revolutionised the way we work, but inconsistent levels of service from ISPs are threatening the ICT (information and communications technology) development of small businesses.
With seven out of ten directors claiming they are heavily dependent on internet access to run their businesses and secure orders, internet failures can be a real disaster when it comes to securing deals - one in ten companies have lost out on a deal due to outages, the report says.Unfortunately it's not clear whether the majority of complaints stem from broadband or dialup services. The
netimperative.info item notes that 93% of firms fail to have any kind of backup.
