The European internet café chain,
Internet Exchange, has become the second Wi-Fi (broadband wireless LAN) offering operator after Megabeam to undercut (price wise) BTOpenzone's own Hotspot services:
You can now log on to the net with your PDA or laptop at 30 Internet Exchange stores in the UK including Leeds, Cardiff and 17 locations in London.
The hotspots, which operate on the 802.11b standard, lets customers with wireless cards access the internet for a monthly or annual fee.
It costs £5 for 24 hours unlimited access or for one month unlimited access you can pay either £20 with a membership plan or £40 for Pay As You Go access.The
Web-User item notes that BTs service starts at £20 per month for 300 minutes, or £6 for a one-hour pass.
