BT LAUNCHES BROADBAND ENTERTAINMENT PACKAGE WITH PHILIPS
BT today unveiled the next stage of its 'Home of Possibilities' strategy with the launch of a broadband-enabled bundle in partnership with Philips that allows customers to enjoy their favourite downloaded music anywhere in their home.
The bundle-comprising the Philips Streamium MC-i250 hi-fi and the BT Voyager 2000 Wireless Modem - uses a Broadband connection to stream MP3 files and online radio stations wirelessly to the Philips Streamium to any room in the house. The package, the first of many broadband-enabled consumer devices from BT, is available in three flagship House of Fraser stores for £499.99 and also at http://www.bt.com/shop .
This partnership marks the next stage of BT's 'Home of Possibilities' strategy to extend broadband throughout the home and network a range of devices.
Pierre Danon, chief executive officer, BT Retail said: "BT has a vision where broadband creates more possibilities in the home. The Streamium bundle does just that - allowing customers to enjoy their music wherever they want."
The launch of the Streamium bundle follows BT's announcement earlier this week of the goal of 100 per cent broadband coverage in the UK by 2005.
Demonstrations will be running in three major House of Fraser stores: Lakeside in Thurrock, Manchester and Oxford Street in London where the products will be on sale. Additionally, BT Yahoo! Broadband CD's will be provided with each package to enable customers to get their fast broadband connection quickly and easily.
