SatDrive Appoints New Chief Executive

Posted: 30th Oct, 2003 By: MarkJ
Broadband satellite ISP SatDrive has appointed David Brunnen to the position of Interim Chief Executive. The provider is also planning to launch a new VPN teleworker service:

SATDRIVE STRENGTHENS MANAGEMENT TEAM

The UK’s most innovative Fast Satellite Internet company today announced that David Brunnen has been appointed as Interim Chief Executive. This appointment strengthens the management team ahead of significant enhancements in SatDrive’s service portfolio.

Speaking at the UK’s Broadband Stakeholders Group Conference in London, SatDrive’s founder and Managing Director Eoin Lambkin said, “During our first year we have done much more than prove the market and the business model for our innovative Bandwidth on Demand service. SatDrive has appealed to small businesses and home workers – particularly those in rural areas beyond the reach of other fast Internet services. We are about to launch an additional secure VPN service for corporate teleworkers and this will require a new focus on bulk sales to much larger organisations.”

SatDrive is a strategic partner of a major new broadband service that is expected to be announced before the end of the year. SatDrive’s advantages in the current broadband market are that it is immediately available anywhere the UK and is the only service that offers its customers the flexibility of bandwidth on demand – with download speeds up to 16Mb/s.

David Brunnen commented, “I am delighted to be invited to guide the SatDrive team through what will be an extremely hectic period. The business is shifting up a gear to meet higher demand from its original small business market, and shifting up yet again to take on major corporate clients. This expansion calls for additional management resources and careful selection of future partners and investors.”

Throughout this period of expansion SatDrive is determined to maintain its reputation for service and support for customers, many of whom are new to broadband. The new Corporate Teleworker service will be available for evaluation and testing by major organisations from next month.

It is expected that with the introduction of the corporate secure VPN service for teleworkers, SatDrive will be seeking to expand its Referral Partner Channel with the appointment of specialists in the management of large-scale corporate teleworker projects.
