Fix For Virgin.nets Broadband ADSL

It's been suggested that customers experiencing problems with Virgin's broadband ADSL service may be able to solve them by tweaking the TCP/IP settings, specifically the MTU:
The optimal values appear to be a MTU of 1430, and a RWIN value of 13900.
ADSLGuide has pointed out two sites where information (guides) for making such alterations can be found:
http://www.pengbo.dsl.pipex.com/ppages/tweaks.shtml
http://freespace.virgin.net/adsl.tech/
Several people have reported success, although we must stress that these settings can be temperamental and may not solve the problem (always remember the original settings). Note that this will NOT solve the dialup related complaints.
