After being with one of the major ISP's for more than twenty years, there was no loyalty in being a long term customer, pricing, service, latency, etc., had gone down the tube, unless you were in a new build area, or a new customer.
So I started looking around to find out what the alternative were, and having seen articles, and reviews for Olilo, I thought I'd take a look at their website. Reading through how the network was designed and built, who they were aiming themselves at, it really spoke to me. So I reached out for some additional information and James answered within a couple of minutes, which I really wasn't expecting.
As soon as I was in the last 60 days of my existing contract, I placed the order to switch. As it was a weekend, the OTS side of things were slow to go through, so I reached out again, and this time Aydan answered, and within a few minutes had pushed things through the system, OpenReach was booked for install on my chosen day, and the OTS information came through.
Fast forward a month, installation has been completed by a really brilliant engineer, and the service has been faultless.
I'll certainly be recommending Olilo to friends and family as they start coming out of contract and looking for a far better alternative.

Having used TalkTalk, Plusnet, Sky, and Virgin Media over the years, Olilo stands out as the only ISP that truly puts the customer first. Switching from Virgin Media Business was completely seamless, which was a huge relief given that my small business relies heavily on stable broadband and multiple static IPs. Olilo took the time to understand my specific setup rather than offering generic script responses. If you want a reliable provider that offers genuine customer care, I highly recommend Olilo.

Olilo wasn't originally my first choice - but after seeing other ISPs on CityFibre still stuck on PPPoE, I decided to look into what Olilo was actually about. Their planned move to DHCP caught my attention, and since they run 30-day contracts on CityFibre, I figured there was little to lose by trying them out. A year on, I'm still here.

Olilo's own network has been rock solid. When my ONT failed, Aydan got a CityFibre fault raised straight away, and they were on-site replacing it within 26 hours - genuinely impressive for a residential connection.

The PPPoE-to-DHCP migration was equally painless. I was a little wary going in, but PPPoE stayed available as a fallback just in case, so there was no real risk. In the end I didn't need it; DHCP has run flawlessly, and I even noticed a small speed bump from no longer having to tag every packet.

Communication from Olilo has been clear and consistent throughout, and the community they've built is one of the best parts of being a customer — a genuinely open, judgement-free space where people help each other troubleshoot or point out better-suited products, no sales agenda attached.

A year in, nothing's changed my mind. Still happy, still recommending them.

I chose Olilo when they were in beta because of the extras and no price hike guarantee. They've been great help when I needed support (when I mentioned their OpenWRT guide didn't work, they updated it within 30 mins, gave me a new IP when Microsoft hadn't updated their GeoIP database). This is on top of the fast routing in the back end (YMMV, I get sub 5ms ping to most things) which is even better than Zen.

Been a long term Virgin Media customer before Openreach finally brought FTTP to my road. Moved to Olilo as soon as I could and wouldn’t look back!

Speeds have been exactly as I’d expect (900Mbps down, 100Mbps up) for the Zen backhaul. In the future I’d like for this to be upped to 1Gbps+, but that’s not Olilo’s fault (and as soon as that’s available in my area, I’m certain that upgrading won’t be a pain).

As a homelab nerd, being able to play with real BGP and IPv6 on my home network is fantastic. Every time I’ve spoken to anyone at Olilo - even before I was a customer - they’ve been an absolute delight and I’m excited to continue as a customer! Don’t think anyone’s ever truly said that about an ISP so they’re doing something right 😄

Switched to olilo and it's been great, support is extremely quick and plenty of information is provided.

Have used VM, BT, Aquiss, sky and a few others over the years. The customer support of VM was absymal for me and the actual line was not amazing albeit the fastest possible.

Olilo has been a nice refreshing change to ISP being quite inaccessible in terms of competent support at times and just general information.
Guys are switched on, very responsive and offer more features for your more technical enthusiast if you want them.

Plenty of contract length options so you can fix your price with no stupid contracted price rises to complicate matters.

They aren't the cheapest with the bargain bin ISPs but at the time they were competitive for the openreach 1.6 line pricing compared to zen so went with them.

They don't do any big sales so no fuss new customer nonsense, should mean pricing is much more consistent as a long term customer which makes a change.

I have zero complaints so far, I see no reason for this to change. Glad I gave these guys a punt.

Olilo have their own core networking stack, using multiple providers as the backing connections to the premises.

Moved to them from Virginmedia on an XGSPON connection, where the Hub5x doesn't support modem mode, changing LAN addresses, or support IPv6 etc... in the modern age, being stuck with terrible ISP equipment/service is just not reasonable.

Olilo encourage your own equipment use, provide you the details you need to set it up, and back that up with first class support via modern platforms like Discord. Finally, an ISP for the modern times, and, consumer focused.

I came across Olilo when I had decided I wanted to move away from Virgin Media HFC to Openreach FTTP. I joined the Discord community in advanced whilst I was considering other ISPs. They are a friendly tech focused bunch who you can have a laugh with. The staff are friendly, responsive and more than happy to answer any questions you have. I ordered my new service to run aside my Virgin line until it expires so I didn’t use the OTS in this case. The install was completed within 2 weeks of ordering and the OR engineer installed my ONT to a place of my choosing where I had pre drilled the hole for them. So far the service has been stable and I’ve been able to finally learn about and use IPV6. Having a static ip included on the prosumer plans is great for self hosting and I’ve also got an extra IP for just £1 a month which is very reasonable. If you’re looking for your next ISP or one that cares, Olilo is worth a try!

Their tagline "Broadband without the bull***" is what attracted me first of all.

It has totally lived up to that so far.

I've only been with them for 1.5 months but it has been fantastic. Their support is down to earth and you speak to someone from Olilo straight away on Discord. No "Press 1 for this, or 2 for that" nonsense.

I know they market themselves as for the nerdy and techy crew. I am, but not super network knowledgeable. I signed up due to their down-to-earthness and easy to get support.

They offered exactly what I was after, no nonsense, 900mb symmetrical, static IP, no CGNAT on Freedom Fibre.

They were very helpful with the transition from Plus.net, even when Plus.net have taken their sweet time to sort everything out!

I've already recommended them to many people and maybe they too will switch.

What can I say? This Olilo is a new fresher of air. Great support via discord. Aydan is a great guy, know all the stuff about broadband and he is there to help out.

I am now using Olilo for nearly 3 months on full fibre 900/110 and no issues at all.

Hope this ISP will stay longer.
