Long term Ukonline customer was dreading leaving my Migration went through today and really pleased.

5.5mb with ukonline 6.6mb with Xilo.
75 ping in WOW on the French server which is lower than the 130 ping I was getting.

changing over from UKO to xilo was easier than I thought,the staff were brilliant even answering emails at ungodly hours of the day with proper info.

great control panel shows you the usage (for the pro 75gb).even has an option you can change from fastpath to interleaved.

no DLM!! on the 75gb pro option also which is great for those not so good phone lines.

On a wish list what would make the service perfect would be upping the monthly usage to maybe 85gb.again only a wish list.

I switched to Xilo in April this year from Fast.co.uk as I could not justify spending £35 a month for what I got.

I was after faster speeds and saw that they had LLU, which it said was available in my area So i quickly signed up, paid the connection fee and first months fee straight away. I was almost instantly emailed letting me know that there was a problem in that there was no space on my exchange for me to be on LLU. So they offered a full refund or to put me on the "Home PRO package".

I kept the connection fee of the LLU which was £60 as credit on my account so I did not have to pay for a few months.

When I ran into trouble with my router settings I dropped them an email and within half an hour I had a reply to my problem. Speeds have been consistent since day one, no down time that I'm aware of and peak times the speeds are equal to any other time. Good pings, and great for online gaming.

Overall I rate them highly and I've recommended them to a few friends... yet their parents decide in the end and the usually go for the likes of BT or Orange to their regret.

I'm making speed as 8 as I would have prefered LLU... but the 8mb I am gives me stable speed of 7.2Mbps. I would prefer LLU due to the upload speeds as a freelance filmer and editor it helps.

Title: Go for it!
Being in rural area and a on a non unbundled exchange can make broadband a challenge. I moved to Xilo in April from virgin media adsl.

The transition was seamless, with no down time during the switch. Getting consistent speeds of nearly 7meg 24/7, something I have never achieved before.

I have never needed to call customer support or raise a ticket, so I’m not in a position to comment on the support, but I guess the fact that I have never needed to make contact speaks volumes for quality of service I’m getting.
So pleased I switched, if you’re looking for fuss free broadband that really is set and forget then look no further.

I was with BT before these guys, had heavy port throtling and usage restrictions during peak hours, also because of ip profiling only obtained about 3.5mb.

Since moving I now get 5mb on their C&W LLU product, very impressed, transition over was smooth, keeping me well informed along the way.

Don't know whether Robb is reviewing a different ISP as from my dealings with these guys, they really do look after you if there are any issues (had to contact them once as internet died, turned out to be a hit fibre optics on C&W's end). They informed me and told me to check the status page which is updated with such information quickly

All round great ISP only ever been with BT before these, but in comparison I am very please with their support and service.

Top marks all round.

Customer service is limited to office hours of 9-5 via phone, the time when most of us are busy at work.

Outside of these hour you have to email them, which is ridiculous as you normally only need to contact your customer service when there is an issue with your internet..... Well thought out that was!

Often found that our service went through periodic stoppages, had to pay to join up in the first place, then you have to pay over £20 to LEAVE the service because of their terrible service!

They refused to offer me a MAC code until I told them who I was going to!

All in all, terrible service.

Edit : At the request of ISPReview Editor-In-Chief, I have agreed to come back and correct the telephone support service which I incorrectly stated was 9-5, Infact the operating times for their telephone support service is only at 10-5.

Since writing the above review, Xilo's employee, Matt, has complained to ISPreview, offering incorrect information, giving out fake information about recent customers that left, and actually mistaking one customer for myself. I have shown screen shots to ISP review to back up my review and hence my review has been accepted as legit.

This experience just further shows how poor the customer service is, and Matt + Co need to accept negative comments as well as compliments and stop acting childish.

Moved over from BT and it's like the jump from Dial-Up internet to broadband again!

Cannot fault this company and highly recommend it to anyone considering moving ISPs.

I've been with Tiscali, Demon and now Xilo.
When I was with Tiscali it kept disconnecting, when I was with Demon the support was awful (Online support chat for example, they would ignore me until I said "Hello?")

I'm now with Xilo, and I'm very happy. The support has been great, the multiple IP addresses for no added cost is fantastic.

When I was with Demon I asked them to reset the sync rate, and they refused. I've been with Xilo for just over a week now, asked them to reset the sync rate on Sunday, it was reset on Monday, and my connection speed has gone from 50KB/s to 160KB/s :)

The reason the speed is low is because of my very old phone line, not because of Xilo

I would recommend Xilo any day.

Seamless switch over from o2 who were, quite frankly rubbish.

Still found line to be a bit slow but after speaking to the tech support team (very none geek friendly!) they tweeked and poked a bit and squeezed a lot more out of my line - which is now much more stable and quicker too.

Result!

Ok, I was with my old provider for over 12 years and _never_ had any trouble with them.

However, after speed-testing them randomly a couple of years back my average speed was approx .6mb (NB; I am in no way tech savvy so excuse my lack of 'tech' speak!)

A friend of mine recommended Xilo so I researched them thoroughly and found nothing but good words said about them, so took the plunge.

Best thing I ever did net-wise!! My speed is currently well over 6mb and I'm now enjoying my PS3 gaming, films and music downloading like I never have done before.

Any issues I had were answered promptly by the help desk either thru phone or email and with a human voice on the end who obviously cared about their customers and Xilo as a business.

I can't recommend these guys enough, and I've been trying to get all my fiends on board as well!

With no contracts and rolling month-by-month payments, what have you got to lose??
