Signed up with Voneus in July 2024. The install was completed quickly by their contractors MAP Group within a couple of days of installation arrangement with the service being up-and-running immediately. No outages so far and speeds have remained excellent.

There are a couple of things to note however:

* The service uses CGNAT by default, though a static IP address can be purchased by contacting support.
* No functional IPv6 support. The router receives an IPv6 address, but it doesn't appear routeable. It may possibly be used for the phone service only, but I'm not sure.
* Support can be slow to respond to emails and take some chasing up (in attempting to purchase a static IP). Once responsive, the address was provided relatively quickly.
* A router is provided (a Zyxel EX3301) which seems good enough, though I use separate equipment so have put it under limited testing.
* The service username and password can be obtained from the router if required to permit using your own equipment.
* Expect some level of working things out yourself - there is no customer portal or information pack setting out service details as with other larger ISPs.

Title: Unreliable
Voneous is unreliable to the extent that you will learn their phone number by heart. When it works, it is ok. The reliability is far far worse than any other broadband company I have used. You couldn't use it if you ran a business that relied on the internet. They unhelpfully inform you about current problems with the service by sending you an email. The way the company is expanding at ridiculous cost (they will dig up 50 metres of road to install fibre to a single house) makes me wonder if they will suddenly go bust leaving customers unconnected. They are fine (but expensive) if you don't mind breaks in the service. One good thing is that they don't currently block many websites that are blocked by other providers.

Overall a good service and has got better. I have been with Voneus for a couple of years. It is under fixed line section here but it is really delivered via wireless (well it is where I live). I pay £35 for the uncapped package. I am also getting a static IP address which they are not charging me for - shh, don't tell them. The static IP is crucial for me as otherwise it would be a double NAT with no port forwarding possible which is useless to me. I am 3 or 4 hops away from the main mast which is not good but in general reliability has been good. Speed has improved over time and is now very good indeed. I am usually getting 50 to 60Mbps down and 50 to 100Mbps up. I am quite satisfied with these speeds. Ping is also reasonably good. The service is good regardless of time of day.

The support is junk though. They don't reply at all by email. If there is an outage you need to ring them up (luckily I manage a weak mobile signal where I live). Outages are fixed quite quickly.

I am sure it is not the most reliable service but it is not bad considering the technology. My alternative would be ADSL at 3Mbps or very flaky cellular at about 10Mbps and a low data cap.

Gigaclear 'should' be coming to town if the CDS debacle is ever resolved and I will upgrade to their 300Mbps service when they do.
