Don't touch if you want to do anything out of the ordinary, or just want to exercise your right to port your telephone number, even for VOIP & fibre broadband!

After moving to Vodafone FTTP BB I decided to port out my VdF VOIP number because (a) Vdf don't provide voicemail and (b) You MUST use the Vdf router for the Vdf VOIP service, which does not support an inbound VPN. I checked with Vdf before signing up that the port would be possible.
A number port was initiated through A&A. On four occasions I received an email from Vdf terminating my _broadband_ as well; I managed to stop three after much frustrating discussion & totally inconsistent information from VdF. Before the fourth I raised a complaint, but they cut off the broadband anyway. The complaint handler gave me more inconsistent information, advised that the only option was a reconnection, but that they couldn't do this until the disconnection 'order' was complete. This, they said, takes up to 72hrs. They shipped a 4G dongle as an interim measure, which doesn't work with their router! A day later they said not to call for 4 working days, by which time they _might_ have 'completed the order' and only when it is can the reconnection be initiated. I am now probably without broadband over Xmas/New Year, Their team tells you endlessly about _their_ process with no evidence of customer care. Avoid
