Have moved with the times, through \'Freeserve\' - \'Wanadoo\' and finally Orange!!!!!
Signed up with Wanadoo broadband @ 2.2mbps and everything worked fine, and then they decided that they would upgrade me to 3.5mbps, since then I have had nothing but problems with them.
First of all they forgot to tell me that I would have to run a programme to optimise my ADSL modem, which I duly did, after talking to about 5 different technical support people (half of whom I couldn\'t understand). This seemed to have solved the problem, but still suffering quite a few dropped lines, averaging a couple per night, annoying but copeable.
A couple of weeks ago, lost connection totally, only to be told that it was a BT problem and nothing they could do about it. This again after talking to several Technical support staff, various comments like had I all my filters in place, doing line tests, nothing wrong with the line etc etc.
Five days later the problem whatever it was resolved itself, but by this time I had decided that enough was enough and that I wanted to move my ISP, so I rang for my MAC code, and a very nice person said \'Yes no problem, we will email you in a couple of days (maximum)\'
Two days go by - Nothing, so I rings up again and asks, only to be told that I was given the wrong information and should have been told that it was 5 working days, this by a Supervisor who said that they couldn\'t give MAC codes out, that they had to send away for them.
Seven days later and I am still waiting.
Seems that they have me by the short and curlies, until I get my MAC code, I can\'t proceed.
Is there anyway I can put pressure on them?????
