BSkyB UK ( Sky Broadband ) has announced its intention to open a new call centre in Stockport (Greater Manchester) during June. The centre will improve the group’s customer support and help to manage increased demand for its triple-play bundle of TV, broadband and phone services.
In a statement, BSkyB said:
"There will be a wide variety of opportunities on offer from customer service roles through to training, coaching and HR. The new (St Peter's Square) site was chosen following extensive research across the UK, based on the availability of highly skilled, customer-focused employees."
The group already employs more than 16,000 people across the UK and Ireland, with several existing centres in Livingston, Dunfermline, Uddingston, Leeds, Osterley and Shepton Mallet. The new facility will add an additional 550 jobs to that total.
