The popular Rochdale-based ISP Zen Internet UK has this week been talking-up it's forthcoming new range of up to 40Mbps fibre optic ( FTTC ) based broadband packages, which will launch in September. In addition Richard Tang, Founder and MD of Zen Internet, has been named North and Midlands Regional winner of Ernst and Young Customer Service Entrepreneur of the Year.
Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year celebrates people who build and lead successful, growing and dynamic businesses; recognising them through regional, national and global awards programmes in more than 135 cities in 50 countries.
Elsewhere Zen is currently continuing to connect new users through an extended commercial FTTC trial, until the full launch which is set to coincide with the increased availability at the end of the summer. This superfast broadband will have a minimum 15Mbps download speed and the potential for "up to 40Mbps". Upload speeds will be offered as "up to 2Mbps" and "up to 10Mbps" options.
Andrew Saunders, Zen's Head of Product Management and Marketing, said:
"We are developing these new services which use fibre optic cabling for part of the network to deliver faster broadband to homes and businesses. It is important to us that we develop these new services in line with our mission to provide the best ISP service in the UK.
The introduction of fibre based broadband will be more significant than the change from dial-up to broadband and we are working hard to ensure we provide all our customers with the same level of service and support that they expect from us for these new services."
