Business Internet Service Provider (ISP) Timico UK has announced the new acquisition of a Slough based mobile applications business,
Handheld PCs, for an unspecified sum. The ISP also sells O2 and Vodafone based mobile service products to businesses and it hopes that the new acquisition will strengthen that work.
Handheld PCs already partner UK mobile operator O2 with a number of business apps for mobile devices, including hand-e-pix, the hosted photo-cataloguing and storage application. Timico will no doubt want to get Vodafone involved too.
Tim Radford, Chairman of the Timico Group, said:
"The addition of Handheld PCs allows us to make further progress in increasing our capability to address the growing demand for mobile based applications, the management of the smart phone devices on which they reside, and, in time, the integration of the mobile internet bearer into a corporate IP data network.
Add this to our leading capability to provide mobile connectivity and a range of customer focused billing services, and we are well positioned to help large communities of users for whom the management of the mobile data user is becoming a growing issue."
That's all.
