Broadband provider Aquiss has soft launched the first phase of its new range of
Family and
Professional home user focused 'up to' 40Mbps (Megabits per second) FTTC based broadband packages. The deals aren't yet available on the ISPs website, although new and existing customers can obtain them by emailing
sales@aquiss.net.
The
Aquiss Family FTTC products all come with a fixed usage allowance (active from 8.00am until midnight) and
unlimited usage is allowed overnights. In addition, and unlike most other FTTC offering ISPs, Aquiss doesn't have any entry-level deals and instead starts with a 60GB package.
FTTC Family 60 £36.00 inc. VAT
* Download Speed: up to 40Mbps
* Upload Speed: up to 2Mbps
* Download Cap: 60GB Peak + Unlimited Offpeak
* FREE Static IP address
* FREE Installation
* FREE PPPoE Modem
* 12 Month Contract
Customers can also take a 90GB usage allowance for £43.20 or 120GB for £50.40 per month. It's also possible to upgrade from a 2Mbps to 10Mbps upload speed, albeit at a cost of +£2.40 extra per month. Various other additional service enhancements are also available, including
Elevated Best Efforts.
As usual it's worth comparing Aquiss's offer with that of other ISPs. Naturally BT Infinity still comes top with their "
unlimited" (Fair Usage Policy) package for £25.60 per month, which also includes a 10Mbps upload speed as standard and a FREE installation (18 month contract). Most third party providers simply cannot match them, yet (unbundled FTTC / VULA could soon change all that).
Meanwhile Zen Internet charges £36 inc. VAT for a similar deal to Aquiss, albeit with a smaller 50GB usage allowance and £90 activation fee. However for the same money, albeit with a £48 connection fee, IDNet offers a peak 50GB and off-peak 150GB (200GB) usage allowance and 10Mbps upload speed.
