Milton Keynes Heads Top 20 List of the Slowest UK Towns for Mobile Broadband

uk mobile broadband statisticsA Buckinghamshire town in the South East of England (UK), Milton Keynes, has been labelled as one of the slowest places in the country for Mobile Broadband services. Apparently customers in the town received an average download speed of 1.73Mbps, which is claimed to be 45% slower than the national average.

8. Hull - 2.35Mbps
9. Stafford - 2.37Mbps
10. Birmingham - 2.43Mbps
11. Manchester - 2.47Mbps
12. Colchester - 2.49Mbps
13. Portsmouth - 2.50Mbps
14. Northampton - 2.53Mbps
15. London - 2.60Mbps
16. Newcastle - 2.60Mbps

By contrast the fastest UK town for mobile broadband services was found to be Peterborough, which experienced an average download speed of 3.86Mbps. The survey itself was carried out by Top10.com between January 2011 and March 2011 and appears to have been based off data from approximately 7,000 or fewer speed tests.
