Businesses in the digitally isolated area of
Milton Keynes are being offered a
free trial of
BT Business Broadband's new
100Mbps+ (rising to 300Mbps in 2012) ultrafast fibre optic
Fibre-to-the-Premise ( FTTP ) internet access services.
The
Milton Keynes Citizen reports that the promotion will only apply to businesses served by its
Bradwell Abbey telephone exchange, which includes firms in
Broughton,
Kents Hill,
Loughton,
Middelton,
Monkston,
Monkston Park,
Shenley Lodge,
Walnut Tree,
Walton Park,
Willen,
Woolstones and
Woughton on the Green.
Regular readers will of course recall that Bradwell Abbey was also the location of BT's
original 2010 trial of FTTP technology at
Brownfield sites (alongside the 'Highams Park' exchange), which usually means abandoned or underused industrial and commercial facilities that have now become available for re-use.
Interested businesses have been given until
5th March 2012 to
register for the trial. The trial itself will then come to a close on
5th June 2012. Credits to Thinkbroadband for spotting this.
