BTOpenreach has today advised ISPs of a reduction in the price of energy usage per kWh from £0.1215 to £0.1174 for all comingling products utilised for LLU, Access Locate and Access Locate Plus. Elsewhere their cheaper to setup FTTC-Start service is now moving out of pilot and being launched on 4th May 2016.

Ofcom has published the final version of their most recent European Broadband Scorecard, which shows how the United Kingdom compares with Europe’s other major countries in terms of delivering the Government’s ambition for us to have the “fastest broadband of any major European country by 2015“.

Fibre optic infrastructure developer Cityfibre has today announced a new partnership with two business ISPs, Exa Networks and Diva Telecom. Both providers have promise to add around 350 sites to the operators national UK Fibre-to-the-Premises (FTTP) / Ethernet / Leased Line network.

Cable operator Virgin Media has cut an extra £1 off its broadband and phone discounts and extended how long they last for from 6 to 12 months. The reductions only apply to bundles and so you still have to pay line rental from £15.33 per month (when pre-paid for 1 year) or £17.99 as standard.
