First Users LIVE on BT Trial of Exchange Based FTTP Broadband

BTOpenreach has confirmed that the first customers have now gone live on their trial of “ultrafast” 330Mbps native Fibre-to-the-Premises (FTTP) broadband technology in Haydon Wick (North Swindon), which involves building fibre optic lines direct to your home from the local telephone exchange.

WarwickNet Brings Superfast Broadband to 70 Stoneleigh Park Firms

Some 70 businesses on Stoneleigh Park in Warwickshire can now access superfast broadband of up to 100Mbps, as well as Gigabit capable leased lines, after local ISP WarwickNet took over the management of the campus-wide network during 2013 and gave it a big upgrade.

UK Considers New “Backwards Class” for Slow Broadband Communities

The Government is reportedly considering the introduction of a new “Backwards Class” designation for communities that suffer from slow broadband connectivity, which could see related areas benefitting from a string of “cost and efficiency savings” that are designed to improve local life, connectivity and services.
