BT Openreach Trial 18Mbps FTTC Broadband Speed for Slow ADSL Lines

Openreach (BT) has today launched a new low tier bandwidth product for their Fibre-to-the-Cabinet (FTTC / VDSL) based “fibre broadband” services, which offers download speeds of up to 18Mbps (2Mbps uploads) for those stuck on slow speed ADSL lines.

Sky UK Offers FREE 38Mbps FTTC Fibre Broadband for 1 Year

Sky Broadband has quietly tweaked the prices for their ‘up to’ 38Mbps Sky Fibre (25GB usage) and Sky Fibre Unlimited packages, with the former being free for the first 12 months of service (£10 a month thereafter) and the latter being £10 per month for the first 12 months (£20 thereafter).

TrueSpeed Connect First NE Somerset Village to 100Mb FTTP Broadband

After one month of muddy digging TrueSpeed Communications has finally announced that they’ve connected their first North East Somerset (England) customer to a new 100Mbps Fibre-to-the-Premises (FTTP) broadband network in the rural village of Priston.

BT Launch BTInfinity 1 Service with Broadband Speeds of up 52Mbps

Internet provider BT has today replaced their old Fibre-to-the-Cabinet (FTTC / VDSL) based 38Mbps BTInfinity 1 broadband service with a new up to 52Mbps package speed, which they brag is “a faster standard fibre service” than you can get from Sky Broadband, TalkTalk or Virgin Media.
