The Gloucestershire and Herefordshire UK councils appear to be on the verge of agreeing a new £14m Broadband Strategy for their joint Fastershire project, which will run until the end of 2022 and aims to extend the reach of “superfast broadband” (30Mbps+) ISP networks into some of the most poorly served parts of both counties.

New UK ISP Swish Fibre, which only recently entered the market (here), has been acquired by Fern Trading Ltd as part of a “long-term funding deal” that they say will enable them to unlock £250m of investment and begin their roll-out of a 10Gbps Fibre-to-the-Premises (FTTP) network to cover 250,000 premises (starting outside London).
