London-focused UK ISP CommunityFibre (CF), which has already covered 500,000 premises with their 3Gbps capable Fibre-to-the-Premises (FTTP) network (aiming for 2.2 million by the end of 2024), has today refreshed and discounted some of their broadband packages. For example, you can now get 1Gbps for just £25.

A new “nationally representative” Opinium survey 3,087 UK adults with a mobile, broadband ISP, or mortgage contract, which was commissioned by Citizens Advice, has found that 1-in-7 customers are still paying their providers a “loyalty penalty” (i.e. paying more than new customers) despite cost-of-living crisis.
The CEO of BT Group, Philip Jansen, has given a more detailed comment about the likely impact on their full fibre plans of broadband rival Virgin Media (VMO2) acquiring budget UK ISP TalkTalk, which he admitted would “knock off some cream of the FTTP case” but it apparently won’t “touch the fundamentals of it at all“.
