Cellnex and Quickline UK Partnership Team

Alternative network provider Quickline, which operates a mix of Full Fibre (FTTP) and Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) networks across parts of Lincolnshire, Lancashire and Yorkshire, has announced that their partnership with Cellnex UK has enabled them to reach 53,000 extra homes and businesses in the first year of operation.

Neos Networks, which operates a 34,000km long fibre network with 676 Points of Presence across the UK, has today launched a Managed variant of its Dedicated Internet Access (Managed DIA) service. The service will provide businesses with fully managed, enterprise-grade fibre optic internet connectivity.

F&W Networks – supported by UK ISP Hey!Broadband – has today announced that they’ve secured “significant” new funding from Foresight Group and claim to have covered 185,000 premises (up from 150k in July 2022) across the South of England with their new gigabit-capable Fibre-to-the-Premises (FTTP) network.

New and existing customers on some of Virgin Media’s (VMO2) home broadband packages look set to see a small speed boost (both downloads and uploads) from 1st November 2022 at no extra charge. The full details have not yet been officially confirmed, but those on the operator’s M100 and M200 packages will see the main benefit.

Low cost ISP TalkTalk, which is home to around 4.2 million UK broadband customers, has today announced the completion of their deal with Ovo Energy to acquire the company’s 135,000 (approx.) SSE Phone & Broadband customers for an undisclosed sum. The move comes after last year’s rescue of Origin Broadband’s base (here).

The global internet video streaming giant, Netflix, has announced that it will launch a cheaper ‘Basic with Adverts‘ plan that costs just £4.99 per month on 3rd November 2022 at 4pm GMT. On top of that, those who take their existing £6.99 ‘Basic‘ plan will gain access to higher resolution video content (720p instead of just 480p).
