Ofcom Scorecard Reveals UK vs EU Broadband Rollout Progress

The communications regulator, Ofcom, has today published its first European Broadband Scorecard that shows how the United Kingdom compares with the EU in terms of the progress towards its ambition that the UK should have “the best superfast broadband network in Europe by 2015“. Overall complaint levels have fallen and saw a fairly typical Christmas dip in December, although worryingly the number of consumers complaining about how ISPs actually handle their gripes has continued to grow.

NPD Group Report 17 Percent Fall in P2P Internet Music Piracy for 2012

Market research firm NPD Group has reported in its Annual Music Study 2012 that the number of broadband ISP internet users using peer-to-peer (P2P) based file sharing services to “illegally” download music declined by 17% in 2012 to 21 million people (down from a peak of 33m in 2005).
