Wired Workplace Promotes SDSL

Posted: 18th Feb, 2005 By: MarkJ
Sheffield-based ISP Wired Workplace has become yet another provider this morning to bolster its offerings with the introduction of a £299 (monthly) 2Mbps broadband SDSL business package:

SME’s in the local area are currently paying over the odds for connections that are slow and ineffective, some in the region of £1000 per month. Instead of paying for a slower and more expensive line, Wired Workplace can offer a 2Mbps link on SDSL from £299 per month with managed network support.

SDSL (symmetrical broadband services) gives access to higher speed, business class broadband services and offers a different type of broadband experience than asymmetrical broadband services (ADSL). Whereas ADSL delivers higher speeds to users that want to download large files, SDSL allows businesses to both send and receive data at high speeds, making SDSL a more effective tool for SME’s and a more efficient form of broadband connectivity.

For businesses needing to send and receive large files over the internet and currently use an ADSL or SDSL link, Wired Workplace can offer a 2Mbps link at a low price. Having recognised that some SME’s require a higher amount of bandwidth but cannot necessarily afford to pay the high install costs and annual circuit rental required by leading competitors, or the high prices presented by many ISP’s for a leased line, Wired Workplace is deploying a variety of offers to suit individual company needs. For SME’s already using a leased line the Wired Workplace’s SDSL offering can be a viable alternative, and in most cases will result in massive cost savings.

For the larger SME needing to send large files over the internet, Wired Workplace has a unique offer of providing a 4Mbps SDSL connection – an amount of bandwidth which could only previously have been provided on an expensive leased line, or on two 2Mbps lines, making the connection equally as expensive. Customers requiring this amount of bandwidth will now only pay a fraction of the price for it when signing up to Wired Workplace, with no charge at all for any upgrade or downgrade.

If a company exchanges enough data to require a dedicated line of connection, Wired Workplace can upgrade the SDSL connection to leased line without any upgrade charge, which will save customers in the region of £1000 for choosing the ISP to supply the line.
