Customers of Nildrams
Tiscali UK based broadband ADSL service have been hit by a serious spate of connectivity problems this morning after the ISPs authentication servers began refusing users details.
The situation has been going on since the early hours of New Years morning, though it is not known whether the problem has impacted all of the ISPs customers or just those in specific areas.
Customers attempting to call the providers support number (0871 230 9296) are greeted by a generic message confirming that a large number of users are currently being affected by the problem. Sadly nobody has updated the Service Status page, which still claims that everything is working normally.
UPDATE 15:32: Service now seems to have been restored and it's emerged that the problem affected customers on at least one of Tiscali's other ISPs, Freedom2Surf. There's still no information on precisely what occurred, which is most likely due to the New Years holiday.
