Tiscali's capped broadband services haven't been offered since August, the ISP has revealed. The provider stated that this was simply because their uncapped, yet more expensive, services had proved more popular:
A spokeswoman for Tiscali said: We did launch two capped 512kbps products at £19.99 but our existing products including the uncapped 512kbps proved to be much more popular at £24.99.
Customers that are signed up to a capped service will be able to continue using it and will not be asked to migrate to an uncapped product.
Tiscali also unveiled plans to launch a £29.99 a month 1Mbps connection back in April but that service has yet to appear. Tiscali has previously blamed the delay partly on ongoing issues with the pricing of BT's wholesale broadband products. We do note that capping has gotten a lot of publicity over the past few months, perhaps the more savvy consumers are finally starting to take note.
