Title: O2
Having moved recently from TalkTalk where I was on a decently priced service (Phone and broadband) which failed to help me resolve a long standing problem, my experience of O2 (Premium subscription) has been in 3 weeks simply excellent.

Sign up is clear and well managed. Updates all along the way and up to activation. On-line customer portal is well laid out and easy to work with.

The speed is excellent and has enabled me to get the most from my line on ADSL2+ Annex A. While it's an interleaved network, the pings are better (30ms) for my line. I'm up to 14meg down and 1.2 meg down which due to technical issues on my copper pairs is unlikely to have been resolved with TT simply because their phone support is very poor (although their on-line is an improvement, but still not direct enough).

On-line support is responsive (albeit basic). Phone Tech Support for 1st and 2nd line are courteous, professional and customer focused. In 3 weeks, I have several analysts working with me through the steps and had 2 BT engineers to finally diagnose and resolve the copper pairs issue to the exchange. As a new customer, imagine my delight from going from 6/0.5 to 14/1.2!! Big credit to these guys.

O2 Router (Thomson box) works well and I don't need my old Netgears (yet). On-line help via forums are equally useful (albeit not officially attached to O2 as far as I know).

One caveat - when dealing with tech support, it's always worth doing your homework (if possible) on the jargon, tools and your home wiring to make things easier when dealing with support who naturally have to run through the steps before they can recognise ownership of any issues.

Overall, a well priced service (you get a discount if you're an O2 customer). Not the cheapest, but you get what you pay for. Having said all that, their current promotions (fee for 1st 3 months) used with Cashback sites make it an even better deal.

Thoroughly Recommended.

Was with Namesco befor and just switched to sky max and speeds have not improved despite sky stating this would improve, 3 weeks on and still sitting at 2-3 meg.
Only good thing they do is the tv service.

Moved to O2 LLU from BT and not looked back so far. Had a problem with speed initially but soon sorted by a very helpful Customer Service.

Had real problems in the past with BT and people unable to understand the issue let alone come up with a solution. Not the case with O2

Also saving money into the bargain so no complaints so far.

I thought I would throw my tuppence worth into the mix. I have been with o2 for 8months now, and I had been finding them bearable, unlike alot of the reveiws I did find there customer suport pretty good, most of the time. I am quite a heavy downloader and told them this before I signed up, and was promised there would be no problems in the future regarding this matter, as it is an unlimited package I am on. What a lie that turned out to be, four months ago I received an email, informing me I was a heavy downloader and to keep an eye on it, and they were going to be MONITORING me, I pretty much ignored this, then 3 weeks ago I received a very nasty phone call from customer services. I was told I had downloaded 92.4 gb in the previous month, and this was TEN times the norm. They then went on to say that if I did not greatly reduce my downloading and change my habits I would be cut off. Yes I do use p2p a fair bit, but only from 2am till 8 am as this is the only time I get a good speed from them. I was told this didn't matter in the slightest. Also a month after I joined they began traffic shaping, which was ment to be from 6pm to 9pm, this is a total lie, as my speed dose not pick up till bang on 2am. I asked them if they were throttling my conection and was told no, but I am 99% sure they are.
On a positive note I have had hardly any disconections, and speed is bearable just, but not even half the 8meg promised. If I had the pc running p2p 24/7 I could see there point, but only running p2p 6 hours a day and being told I am using to much bandwidth is just truly unaccepable. They are going to call me in next few weeks to tell me if I am getting binned, so watch this space.

Don't bother with O2 if you plan running p2p any length of time, or if you plan alot of other downloading . Also it is truly impossible to do anything but surf in the formentioned "peak times".

I would deffinatley NOT recommend O2 unlimited to anyone as it ain't " unlimited" downloads, infact not even close, you are pre-warned fellow p2p pepole !!!

By far the worse i have experienced!

I'm outside their so called network therefore I pay the higher rate & not only that I'm only limited to the 8meg internet broadband but I'd be lucky to even have internet during the peak hours (4:30pm-11:30pm)

Now to make things worse they have started blocking/banning file sharing websites ie. rapidshare, megaupload etc (Do a search on google & you will find pages of info)

I will def be requesting my MAC code once by contract is up next month!
