Having been a satisfied customer of their sister company Xilo for many years, I finally decided to move our broadband service over to uno, and take the opportunity to transfer our website and domain management over to them at the same time, all for free. All the work was completed almost immediately, without any problems whatsoever, and the service is as brilliant as ever. Their client service management dashboard and associated control panel are extremely powerful and comprehensive, allowing considerable flexibility in managing all of our services online. Although the broadband speed is limited by the distance from our nearest exchange (the village is finally being fibred as I write), they have consistently provided the best speed and service that we have ever received from any previous ISP.

Was good when I first started out with uno. Stable 6mbps connection. Every 3 months or so since. had issues with lots of fails. Contacted uno and all they did was increase SNR and therefore speed. Today, still getting load of fails and speed is down to 1.4mbps. Internet is virtually unusable.

Support just puts it down to EMI and they can do nothing. Never had the issue when I was with BT, Either BT are screwing uno or vice versa and that, in tuen, is screwing me. God knows. I am at a total loss at what to do.

Extremely disappointed in comment from UNO below. I reviewed based on a "dead end" reply I received on the 16th, I quote

"All we can do in this station is what I outlined earlier i'm afraid. I wish we could do more or magic a cure but we've ruled out everything to that possibly can be."

Uno offered and engineer visit on the 20th to which I have not yet had a chance to reply till today!

Uno suggest FTTP, at a cost of cousre, but they do not do it. If they had bothered to check, I cannot get it either! Happy to pay but.................
ISPreview Sanctioned 'Right to Reply' (RtR) by uno Follows (DO NOT REMOVE) Related Rule(s) - http://www.ispreview.co.uk/rules.shtml#3 We're sad to read the comments from this customer. We have worked with him for a period of time trying all possible options to stabilise the line as would be logical to do so. One such option is to increase the margin temporarily to see if this helps.

As the data indicates the line is suffering from noise bursts or interference, we have offered an engineer visit but as yet, the customer has not been willing to do so. Due to this, our ability to resolve the situation is limited.

Whilst we did look at the other options possible to him, we did make it clear that FTTC would not give any benefit (as the estimate was lower than ADSL) and FTTP was possible but not available from us.

I'm in a rural farm right at the limit of ADSL broadband about four miles from the exchange. Fibre broadband is not available and the wire line is not the best quality. High speed broadband came to my exchange a couple of years ago but speed and reliability with my old ISP Orange / EE was just hopeless. Repeated complaints through 'customer service' somewhere in Asia were time consuming, painful and ineffective. That prompted me to move to BT and I was reasonably happy with their service however, after my initial deal came to an end I was paying £50+ a month for a slow (2.3 MB/s) connection and a bundled package of calls that I wasn't using. When I said I was thinking of moving of course I got the hard sell of another discounted 12 month contract and I considered staying with BT to avoid the hassle of switching. My previous switch had been a nightmare, cut off by EE as soon as I notified them of my intention to leave and unable to get BT due to mandatory waiting periods and each blaming the other.

I switched to uno due to their high customer satisfaction ratings and simple pricing and I couldn't be more pleased. Speed has improved to 3MB/s at times which is above the top end quoted speed for my line and speed is now reliable. The switch process was flawless, I opted for a simple Technicolour router on the advice of a very helpful customer service person as I have Apple equipment to provide my home Wifi. I had one minor issue on switch over which was resolved instantly and helpfully by uno over the phone, I'd miss typed my user name - my fault. Their team appears to be UK based, knowledge, courteous and I was hardly kept waiting at all.

As others have said this is all a breath of fresh air and I'm getting a service that I'd previously been told was unavailable. I only hope that uno manage to maintain their superb service as they grow. In some ways I'm reluctant to praise them in fear of loosing what I now have.

I moved from TTB FTTC to uno BT wholesale FTTC about 10 days ago. The move was completed seamlessly and the overall the new connection is an improvement on the TTB line in terms of throughput and response. In addition there is the advantage of not being on an FTTC stable DLM profile with TTB but a fast one with uno. This is ideal for keeping interleaving away on an ECI DSLAM.

With uno you do pay for the move from an LLU back to BT and the reconnection but in my view this is comepensated for by their very reasonable ongoing charges. The support from uno has also been so much better in terms of competance and responsiveness.

I am hoping things continue to go well

Title: Excellent
I finally made the leap to Uno after one too many disappointing experiences with TalkTalk's customer support. Having been on their Talk Surf package for a week, I thought I would share my experience with the service, given ISPreview introduced me to Uno in the first place.

Firstly, as other reviewers have stated, the support is excellent. I had never gone through a migration, and this coupled with all the options available meant I had a mountain of pre-sales questions. The sales team answered each one promptly and courteously, even speaking frankly about cease fees. I sent several emails late at night after work, and still received responses within minutes.

On the subject of options, I appreciated the bare-bones approach where everything is an add-on. As someone who does not use their landline (but would like to keep a working service), not having to pay for included calls, voicemail or caller display was a bonus. The ability to have no enquiry record in the directory was also great for preventing nuisance calls. Although not relevant to most customers, routed blocks of IP addresses are definitely one of Uno's differentiating features, and the lack of ongoing fees for smaller blocks is great value.

After completing checkout, I immediately received several emails confirming my order, payment, and next steps of migration. I was pleased to see the free hosting account was activated immediately, and blown away when I was taken to a full-blown cPanel account. I was expecting watered down FTP access, so this was a very pleasant surprise, and set the tone for the rest of the order.

I did experience a small issue during provisioning that resulted in my order being processed and rejected twice, however this turned out to be a postcode matching issue at the supplier’s end, and Uno still managed to deliver the service on the original activation date.

The online portal only becomes fully functional once the service is activated, and what a portal it is. It makes the account section of my previous ISP look like a child's toy. I can see a breakdown of usage, set reverse DNS for both my WAN and block of IP addresses, view line quality, show call history, and more. It does have a few rough edges (it is not completely clear which emails are received by sub-accounts, even with the email preferences), but is functionally excellent. The only feature I do wish it had is the ability to drill down into historical bandwidth usage. Currently the granularity is fixed at hourly for the last 24 hours, daily for the current month, and monthly for the current year. The ability to export a CSV of the underlying data for external analysis would also be very useful.

Speeds were initially slower than when I was with TalkTalk, however one email to the support team and my line profile was adjusted, which bumped them back up to the same level 10 minutes later. These will only get better once Talk Surf Fibre comes along, which I have been told is an easy migration, and one which I am very much looking forward to.

Overall, it has been fantastic. Uno have resolved the only minor issues I have had quickly and efficiently, and it's reassuring to see the level of service stay high even after money has changed hands. Uno have an outstanding product, backed by excellent support and self-service tools. Strongly recommended.

Title: Amazing
Blazingly fast, I can't actually believe it's this fast.

Moved from Phone Co-op and the difference in speed is night and day. It's by far the fastest ISP I've ever had. I can't see myself ever leaving them!

Migration was painless, emails from them with progress updates were friendly and clear as was the settings email.

I'm honestly ecstatic!

I had been with BT on an unlimited Fibre connection however I was getting tired of them screwing up my account and with 2 price rises in several months I had had enough and decided it was time to leave.

Started looking at one of my old spots thinkbroadband and had a look at what people were recommending on there then went to the site to have a look and compare prices. I then came across UNO and decided they were going to be the new one for me had not seen any bad reviews so as soon as I got the email from BT about prices going up again I rang them up and gave them my notice (14 days to transfer).

Ordering through their site was very easy picked my day to migrate and ordered a new Zyxel VMG8924-B10A as they had a fantastic offer for it (nearly half the price on Amazon and over half price from Zen).

Migration happened sometime just before I got up at 6am on the day I picked and went through so smoothly. Checked my internet speed and was exactly the same as what I was getting with BT.

Support was excellent and any queries I had (and I did have a few) were quick including getting a reply back after 1am.

I am so glad I chose to go with Uno its like a breath of fresh air compared to BT and I do not regret going with one of the smaller ISP's at all. Even better the having to have a land line and BT charging 18.99 for it soon I get to save 7 quid a month as Uno its only 11.99 inc VAT per month. I dont use the landline at all so it was also good to find someone not charging a silly price for it.

Switched to Uno Talk and Surf a while back and it's one of the best moves I have made in life.
Superb customer service, with very fast response to the most trivial inquiry at all hours. I am sure Matt never sleeps!
The price I pay is one of the lowest you will find, let alone from a leading quality ISP. Calls are the lowest around at around 1p, with no call connection charge, per second billing and no contract tie-in.
As for the service itself, my broadband is fast, reliable and showing the lowest latency I have seen for years at around 9ms, which makes me a very happy bunny.

Five years ago I became a Xilo customer on the basis of very strong reviews on this site. These reviews turned out to be spot on. In all my time with Xilo I never had a single technical issue. Infact I only got to find out just how good the support is when I decided to migrate away (standardising on a single ISP). The new ISP and OpenReach been flailing around mucking stuff up and through out all of this - even though I'm migrating away - Xilo's support has been the one to rely on. I know who I'll be migrating to next time. Thanks Xilo - you guys are great. Will be a customer again.

Title: Watch Out
Be aware with this company they will not activate a phone line, even though they provide line rental.

So be aware if you actually move into a new place DON'T repeat DON't, use this company as u'll just have to waste money to get it sorted.

Follow Up: To note if you already have a connection and you are just interested in migration, the customer service did their best with what they could do (well in regards to the normally shocking nature of ISP's CS departments). All costs were fully refunded even though I did waver my cooling off period, which they didn't have to do, so adjusting scores to match.

Won't comment on Speed so leaving at 5 as never went through with the process so never tested the speed.
