I've had a vodafone mobile internet account since August 2023. Since then i have consistently had zero or kilobyte only service at the weekends. Each time when i complain the answer i am provided is 'network issues'. Having probed further, they said they were upgrading the network base station (which took 3 months to complete). Today yet again, no service. The response 'network issues' suggests that they have no control over the level of performance of their network.

Avoid at all costs.

Just cancelled my contract with them on installation day due to the fact they are now saying the broadband would not be ready for around 2 weeks so no connection to the internet for 2 weeks! This was due to openreach not confirming a date with Vodafone but this was only checked when I called at 17:30 on the day the installation day as I had not seen my current Plusnet connection drop or had any contact from Vodafone. So now I have to call my work and explain that I cannot work for 2 weeks due to no internet connection! I am going to lose a lot in wages or have to use my annual leave, to say I'm angry with Vodafone is an understatement! Be aware they have dealt with my transfer from plusnet and gave me an installation date and therefore a termination of my old contract date but never checked to see if they could actually achieve this until I called! They are totally incompetent! Broadband is now an essential part of life especially when you have to work from home. Please be aware of Vodafone and hopefully you will not get into a situation like me.

Absolutely dreadful experience with Vodafone mobile broadband. For weeks internet was slow and intermittent. Every time I ask for help, I'm put through to an Indian call centre. Waiting times of over 1 hour, agents hang up on you, promise to call back but never do.

After weeks of bad service, then internet stopped entirely. They flatly refuse to send an engineer.

After a week of no internet, I tried to cancel my contract but they said I would have to pay a termination fee! Excuse me, you're not providing a product or service yet I have to pay a fee??? For having no internet!

Just don't use them. You get no protection and no way out without paying!

I have been with vodafone broadband for 18 months and have just switched. The connection speeds were generally good (around 30/39), but at peak times they were getting slower and slower since I subscribed (recently as low as 1.5mbits). Although a couple of faults are documented (and claimed fixed - human error (late aug), sliced fibre (early sept)), the peak speeds are still not good (before and after) and I was inclined to switch anyway. It does suggest oversubscribed infrastructure - too much contention.

Also, their router was nailed to dumb. There was hardly anything you could configure on it and no admin mode (for customers anyway).

Support was pretty good from what I recall... I had a line fault a year ago.

Hope they upgrade their infrastructure soon!

Title: Vodafone
not very pleased that I barely receive signal at my house, and no internet connection at all in my village, (would be a lot worse if I didn't have wifi, however slow it is).

My 4G speeds are nothing to write home about, I receive faster speeds on my TalkTalk ADSL at home, and that's saying something. And I really don't like that they automatically block websites!

The only really redeeming quality is that as a part of my contract I have three months unlimited data, whereas otherwise, on my 5gb(?) limit i would likely go over otherwise.

Vodafone is infamous for sneaking upon unsuspecting customers and hitting them with 3g charges not requested in the first place.

Having said which, I would like to draw your attention to cause of my present irritation.

I am in receipt of a SMS from vodafone informing me that I have consumed 400 MB of data which is preposterous as I house is sufficiently covered by WIFI and this is a house phone and no such service was availed by me.

You don't get much in the way of services with Mobile Broadband, it's just a raw connection and since nobody does any different then I can't really rate it down.

No extra services, but I didn't sign-up expecting any. Service is reliable but less 3G coverage is outweighed by faster masts.

Never had a problem with support, UK based etc.

Highest speed acheived (10/10):

6.3Mb (Down)
1.44Mb (Up)

Overhead (error checking) eats up a lot of bandwidth, like with wifi you never acheive the full throughput (54Mbps for example).

Average: ~2Mb / 1.2Mb.

Upload is faster than my home connection.

Price/Speed is great, O2 and Three could never compete on this level.

UPDATE: Just got a phone contract with them, hopefully I can beat the max down/up speeds sometime.

I was with vodafone for 18 months and found that my speeds were getting slower the longer I was with them. The service was also becoming increasingly unstable.

I live in Central London which I'm sure is the worst place to try and use such a service but it is the capital city, should we not expect good and stable speeds?

The best speeds achieved were 2.1 Mbps but I was averaging under a 1 Mbps, at around 500 kbps.

The pricing wasn't bad, and I also signed up to there international tariffs, which to be honest were still expensive, but better than any of the other operators.

Customer service helped me get set up on my PC as I had a few problems with dll errors, but they eventually got fixed.

Overall an OK service, but not good enough for me to stick with them.

Title: AVOID
Well I unpacked the USB Stick and plugged it into my "Free" laptop and it installed the software and in a few min's I was up and running, but the connection only lasted a few mins then cut out, I then decided to try later on in the day and every time I tred to connect to the 3g Network a Error in there own programme came up, So I thought I would call Customer services, What a waist of time that was, Today I'm taking it all back to Cancel the contract with Vodaphone. The Service was unreliable and the customer service even worse.
