Icomera, a specialist in vehicle based internet connectivity, has recently managed to deploy a
free Wi-Fi wireless broadband solution on both the
First Hull Trains and
National Express's Stansted Airport Coach services.
According to
myNewsDesk around 40,000 Stansted Airport Coach commuters have already used the service, which makes use of T-Mobile UK's Mobile Broadband connectivity and Icomera's
Moovbox M200 kit to deliver download speeds of up to 7.2Mbps over a shared Wi-Fi link.
The General Manager for Icomera's Road Division, Dave Palmer, said:
"With this WiFi deployment, National Express has once again demonstrated their commitment to meeting the expectations of today's business and leisure travellers. With millions of new WiFi enabled smartphones and tablet PCs being purchased every month the demand for reliable internet connectivity on the move is growing exponentially. We are delighted to be supporting innovative customers like National Express in getting customers onboard and online."
In related news Icomera has also announced a new partnership with
OpenDNS, which will allow the firm to provide
web filtering and Internet security services to its onboard-train communications services. Many readers use OpenDNS as a faster and free alternative DNS solution to their ISPs own method.
