Business ISP Fluidata has expanded its product portfolio to include a 5:1 contended broadband ADSL service, which compares with the standard 20:1 offered by most providers:
Nearly all business ADSL products have a contention ratio of 20:1, which was fine in the early days of broadband when networks were undersubscribed. Now, however, even some domestic ISPs are having to respond with lower contention for home users. In todays climate, with UK broadband take-up now into seven figures, contention matters more than ever.
Fluidata, the business leaders in low contention DSL, is responding to these demands with a new 5:1 ADSL service which is available nationwide through any broadband enabled exchange. Whilst there are already low contention business products on the market, and particularly within Fluidatas existing product range, these are almost exclusively limited to LLU exchanges and DataStream technology. In comparison, Fluidatas new 5:1 service is delivered using IPStream, ensuring business users can rapidly and easily migrate from existing 20:1 services to a reliable, fast and low contention internet connection.
As with all of Fluidatas DSL products, the service is unrestricted: there is no port blocking or data usage capping, and the contention ratio is guaranteed at every stage, from the clients site through to the internet, so bandwidth availability can be relied upon for critical applications such as VoIP and basic video.
ADSL 5:1 comes with BT Total Care cover, 24/7 support and SLAs as standard, so businesses can be confident that were doing everything possible to ensure service availability and uptime.
Pricing starts from £99 per month, with speeds currently available at 512Kb/s 1Mb/s or 2Mb/s, and services up to 8 Mb/s are due following completion of BT Max trials.
