The UK Internet Services Providers Association (ISPA) has revealed all of the finalists for its 2007 Internet industry awards. Typically we will only list the ISP ones below, but be prepared for the odd SHOCK!:

Best Dial-up
Biscit
ntl:telewest
Orange
Waitrose
Zen Internet

Best Wireless ISP
BOZII
Community Internet
The Cloud
West Somerset Internet

Best Consumer Broadband
Be Unlimited
Eclipse Internet
Entanet
Namesco
Seriously Internet

Best Business Broadband
Datanet
Eclipse Internet
Entanet
Kingston Communications
Namesco

Best Consumer ISP
Biscit
ntl:telewest
Orange
Tiscali
Virgin.net

Best Business ISP
Claranet
Datanet
Entanet
UKFast
Zen Internet

No doubt many will be quite surprised to see Biscit nominated under the "Best Consumer ISP" category (Tiscali too), not to mention "Best Dial-up". We're tempted to ask ISPA whether this is some kind of joke, having seemingly ignored the vast amount of problems over the past few months with service and support; admittedly mostly broadband related.

Still, the ISPA awards are no stranger to controversy, although in the eyes of many this will be a step beyond the ridiculous. It’s not the first time a shaky provider has been included during a problematic year (Bulldog etc.), although in this instance some are still feeling the impact of the NetServices/Biscit dispute. Comments?
