The Lancashire County Council has once again picked BT to help extend the coverage of superfast broadband (24Mbps+) speeds from the current target of 97% (end of 2015) to 99% by around 2017, which will be conducted as part of the Government’s BDUK based Superfast Extension Programme.

Pure fibre optic ISP Hyperoptic has announced that the first five apartment blocks to receive their symmetric 1000Mbps capable Fibre-to-the-Building (FTTB) network in the city of Liverpool have now gone live and a further 16 developments are also undergoing installation work.

EE has beaten Vodafone to the punch by becoming the first primary Mobile Network Operator in the United Kingdom to launch a practically seamless WiFi calling service, which means that customers who can’t get a good cell signal can still make calls.. so long as there’s a usable WiFi network nearby.

Sigh, it happened again, I was in the middle of streaming a movie over the home WiFi network while simultaneously making toast in the kitchen, and suddenly it stopped. Moments later a little icon pops up to torment me with the news, “Internet Connection Lost!“, it exclaims while clearly oblivious to my snorting sounds of frustration. Where did it go? Who took my Internet? And if its lost, how can I find it again?
