The Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) has today opened up a consultation for feedback on the proposed mobile mega-merger between Three UK and Vodafone (here), which would reduce the number of mobile operators in the market from four to three and may thus impact upon competition, consumer prices, jobs and security.

Mobile operator Lyca Mobile, which last week confirmed that it had been struck by a serious cyberattack that disrupted their systems and connectivity services across the UK (as well as in various other countries), has now confirmed that the hackers also “accessed at least some of the personal information held in our systems“.

Gigaclear ATS Group Engineers Training

Rural ISP Gigaclear, which covers 500,000 premises (430k Ready for Service) across 25 counties in England with their gigabit-capable Fibre-to-the-Premises (FTTP) broadband network, has praised ATS Group for helping to train their engineers in the South of England and getting them into the field far quicker than before.

Mobile network operator giffgaff has just become the latest provider to introduce eSIM (Electronic SIM) support, although at present they only appear to be allowing existing customers with the operator’s latest Smartphone app installed (iOS App and Android App) – version 12.13.0-v337 or above – to transition from a physical to electronic SIM.
