I was super skeptical about switching to Fibrenest. I mean, I didn't really have a choice since it was a new build Persimmon Homes development.
I read a ton (ha ha like 2) of (old) reviews online and had many sleepless nights thinking I was downgrading big time. You see, I was on the 2Gbps YouFibre package at my old place, which was perfect for my homelab shenanigans. I was sure moving to this "Terrible ISP" was going to be a disaster.
Fast forward to today, and I've been a Fibrenest customer for just about 3 weeks. And guess what? It's been... perfect. I went with the 900Mbps package, and the ONLY downside is the price. Going from paying £54 a month for a 2Gbps package with a static IP to now paying £59 for a 900Mbps package with a static IP does sting a bit. But hey, I'm hoping this is short-term pain for long-term gain.
Their support is pretty good too. Even though I'm in the industry and probably know more than the average call center agent, they don't come across as arrogant. If I mentioned something they didn't understand or questioned their scripted response, they accepted it and offered to connect me with their technical team. The call agents I've spoken to have been really kind, understanding, and willing to help.
It's 2025, and I'd say Fibrenest has come a long way since the early 2020s. Their pricing could be better, but I guess they know the
