 EE (Mobile Broadband)
Posted: 13th Jan, 2021    By: anglia
Purchased the EE-E71 Router from Currys online together with an EE Sim
Installed router with no problem
The Sim pack stated "Enough data to get you started"
Registered Sim and then carried out Speed Test - download speed 35Mb/s then it froze
It appeared I had used up my 100Mb allowance
To top-up online on my account, I was only given minimal choices like 100, 500Mb and 1Gb - no good at all
I ordered a new 30Gb Data Sim, I received no acknowledgment to my order but Customer Services told me it would arrive - waited a week nothing
Two calls to CS referred me to the Community Forum - they just told me to Ring CS
Nobody had the slightest interest in helping me out.
The last straw, I was told to call their 0793 premium Rate number to top up my original Sim
or I could put the SIM in my PAYG mobile and pay 25/min. I queried would EE see that as a 30Gb Top-up to my phone rather than the E71 - didn`t know the answer, told me to ask that question on the Community Forum
By this time mentally exhausted and abandoned any hope of ever using EE Mobile Broadband
I will get the Router unlocked and try another mobile provider

 PlusNet (Broadband Fixed Line)

Eighteen months go, I changed my elderly (vunerable) neighbour from BT who were charging him £65/month for Phone/call package and Broadband to Plusnet at £28
Unbeknown to me, PN calls and informs him that his contract has expired and it requires renewing for the next 18 months. Then he is hit with a hike in his payment for £27 to £44
Furious would be an understatement considering his entire village is on copper with his download speed at 2/3 Mb/sec
As he genuinely thinks this massive increase is due to inflation, so he agrees to this offer he cannot refuse
PN should be ashamed of themselves, fleecing a 90+ gentleman who relies on his broadband as a lifeline to the outside world.
My own PN contract is due in 3/21, I certainly wont be renewing.

 BT (Broadband Fixed Line)

Title: Appalling
In the past month, I have spoken to BT (presumably India) once using Live Chat and the other on the phone,
I asked them the date my contract ended and what financial penalties I would receive if I left early.
In the case of Live Chat, I was told I was taking up too much of their time and they pulled the plug on me
Same again on the phone, soon as I said I wanted to leave they lost interest in the conversation and hung up.
Shocking attitude.
