I've been with Origin since 2012 as they were the first company in the area to offer me fibre. In the good old days, the router was delivered by a member of staff, and having broken mine recently, I'm happy to see that's still the case when they brought me a free replacement!

Speeds are amazing, they've never slowed me down, and the price is good too. I've chosen to take care of my line rental for the next two years, so it works out at about £8 per month - which is half the price my friends pay for theirs. My little brother was using my connection and seemed really impressed that some websites he uses weren't blocked like our connection at home.

There was a lot written about the old network closure that affected Origin customers, but they always kept me in the loop, reimbursed me when I chose to buy a dongle during the downtime and they've been brilliant since their new network launched back in August/September. They didn't turn into a different company just because they faced a crisis, but I think they were overwhelmed and things suffered. As far as I'm concerned, they're the same company they've always been. In a word, brilliant.

I was really annoyed when I found out BT bought Plus net as I liked that they were local. Now I have a proper alternative to stick with.

I was with Plus net as my first broadband company when I moved out of my parents house. They seemed really good and I loved that they were local. After a few years, the service seemed to go downhill massively and I learned that they'd been snapped up by BT! My mum and dad were with BT and their service was horrible, and I started to get more of the same. It was faulty a lot before I left and I had a really long wait on the phone to try and fix it. I was even hung up on a few times. Never going back to them again - even if they are cheap.

My ISP Origin broadband just offered me a cheaper deal than theirs anyway and they're also Yorkshire-based. It's been a far better experience than being with one of the big companies. I completely blame BT by the way; they shouldn't be allowed to trade under other names to effectively fool customers who wouldn't normally go near them.

I joined EE for the new iphone and while I love the phone, the customer service is poor. I had a complaint about their service after some scammer charged fees to my account from a fake facebook link. The advisor repeatedly insisted I had ordered or agreed to something, but i didn't. I had to speak to three people to get it sorted and get a block put on the scam charges. hopefully, I'll remember all this when my contract is up, which is currently AGES away :(
