Ofcom has released its latest chart showing the complaint trends of the top six most complained about telephone and broadband ISP issues over the past 12 months to May 2009. The graph shows a clear reduction in all types of complaints, including broadband migrations and tag on line issues.

Spitfire, the UK Internet access and Internet telephony operator, has become the latest ISP to be selected by BT Wholesale to take part in the first consumer trials of VDSL (Very High Speed Digital Subscriber Line) technology. Spitfire is one of nine ISPs in the UK , including Entanet and PlusNet , to have been selected for the trials.

Cashbox, a UK supplier of ATM cash machines, has teamed up with BT to integrate Wi-Fi (wireless) broadband Hotspot access into all of its new and existing ATM sites. The new five-year deal allows anybody close to one of their cash machines to access the Internet via Wi-Fi equipped computers and devices. Initially just 10 Cashbox ATM’s will be upgraded, although the group has 2,500 across the country.

We've received several emails from customer's of the BT Total Broadband service complaining that the ISP has blocked them from accessing
RapidShare, which is an online file hosting/download service (not P2P). Similar issues have occurred in the past, often due to cache conflicts or a restriction imposed by Rapidshare itself, thus we do not believe the problem to be intentional on BT's part.
