The mobile division of Virgin Media , which is based off T-Mobile UK's network , has increased the performance of its Mobile Broadband service up to a maximum of 7.2Mbps. That's impressive considering that T-Mobile's website only pledges to deliver "
up to our maximum of 4.5Mbps", though in the real world most mobile operators have enough problems hitting 1-2Mbps.

Broadband.co.uk has released its latest anecdotal monthly broadband speed testing results for November 2009. It shows that the average UK broadband download speed for the largest ten ISPs has remained largely unchanged since October and currently stands at 4.367Mbps.

Digital Economy Bill is to be debated by the Lords tomorrow in its Second Reading. We recommend that anybody who has an objection to the unfair proposal of disconnecting customers from their UK broadband ISPs, based on a suspicion of involvement with illegal p2p file sharing, write to the lords and tell them about it.

Abica has commenced trials of BT's new superfast next generation Fibre-to-the-Cabinet ( FTTC ) broadband technology via the Halfway Exchange in Glasgow, which serves business intensive areas such as Hillington and Cardonald. The service officially went live at the Halfway exchange on Friday last week.

Mobile operator Three (3) has admitted that the 3G Mobile Broadband coverage of its network is not as good as it should be. The operator has now begun temporarily removing sales of Mobile Broadband kit from stores located in areas where coverage does not meet its own internal standards. In addition, users unable to gain even basic web and email access will also be able to exit their contracts or receive a discount.
