A new survey from The Cloud, a wireless internet operator, has claimed that 59% of small UK businesses fail to offer a Wi-Fi service and 44% have no plans to do so, which is despite demand from customers.

The Independent Networks Cooperative Association (INCA), which works to support the development of local superfast broadband projects, has warned that the governments Broadband Delivery UK (BDUK) office should review how it functions before more telecoms operators walk away over the perceived lack of a level playing field.

The group responsible for managing access to BT's local UK telecoms infrastructure, BTOpenreach, has today announced the commercial launch of its new cable ducts access product. Significant progress has also been made with its key trial custom, Fujitsu, which aims to reach 5 Million homes in rural areas (before 2016) with an ultrafast fibre optic broadband network that uses the same product.
