Openreach (BT) has today announced that the on-going ISP trial of their new 18Mbps (2Mbps upload) Fibre-to-the-Cabinet (FTTC) product, which is designed to help people stuck on slow ADSL based pure copper broadband lines, has been extended until 30th October 2017.

Ofcom has today launched a ‘Call for Inputs‘ on their plan to review the performance of Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) providers, which are third-party ombudsman schemes that help consumers to resolve complaints with broadband, phone and mobile providers etc.

Urban fibre optic ISP Hyperoptic has signed a new supply agreement with Nottingham City Homes (NCH), which means that council residents at the Victoria Centre Flats and The Woodlands will soon be able to access ultrafast broadband via Fibre-to-the-Premises (FTTP) technology.

The price that ISPs and consumers pay for access to a 40Mbps FTTC superfast broadband line on Openreach’s (BT) network in the United Kingdom is set to fall after the telecoms regulator, Ofcom, launched a new review of the wholesale local access market. Quality of service standards will also be improved.

Fixed Wireless ISP Relish Wireless, which is owned by UK Broadband Ltd (acquired by Three UK) and runs an ‘up to’ 40Mbps broadband network for homes in Swindon and central London, has partnered up with Verve Connect to launch a new wireless router (Relish Hub) for their service.
