Supermarket giant ASDA has announced that their mobile network division, ASDA Mobile, has taken the big decision to swap their Mobile Virtual Network Operator (MVNO) supplier from EE (BT) to Vodafone. The new 5-year deal will see ASDA harness both 4G and ultrafast 5G (mobile broadband) connectivity.

UK ISP Sky Broadband has reduced the price of their optional “Boost” add-on from £5 to £2 per month for new customers who take one of their “Superfast” (FTTC) or “Ultrafast” (G.fast / FTTP) based broadband packages between now and 24th September 2020 (this doesn’t extend to their ‘Essential’ package).

Customers of Vodafone UK’s contract-free mobile operator “youth brand” – VOXI – will soon to able to take their new 4G and 5G based “Endless Video” plans, which provides unlimited data (mobile broadband) to popular streaming services like Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, YouTube, My5, TVPlayer and UKTV Play.

The Scottish Government (SG) has informed ISPreview.co.uk that they expect to sign a contract with BT (Openreach) for the delivery of their much delayed LOT 1 area, which forms part of the £579m R100 (Reaching 100%) superfast broadband roll-out programme, “before the end of the calendar year.”

Hull-based UK ISP KCOM has said it will restore broadband data caps on packages with fixed data allowances from 1st October, which were “temporarily” removed earlier this year as part of the provider’s response to support customers who needed to work from home during the COVID-19 lockdown. But there’s a problem.
