Voneus Rural Trenching for FTTP

UK ISP Voneus, which is supported by investment from Macquarie Capital and harbours a “near term” plan to cover 100,000 homes in rural areas (here) with their Fibre-to-the-Premises (FTTP) broadband network, has today revealed 8 new villages in rural Buckinghamshire (England) that will soon benefit from their rollout.

Mobile operator EE (BT) has this afternoon been hit by a sporadic network outage, which started at around 1pm and primarily seems to be affecting mobile broadband connectivity via 4G and 5G services (3G still works.. sometimes), across different parts of the United Kingdom.

The UK government, which wants to be seen as at least trying to do something about the cost of living crisis, has reportedly summoned bosses from most of the major mobile and broadband providers to Downing Street next week. Seemingly in the hope of finding more ways to help those who may be struggling to pay their bills.

The UK Supreme Court has today handed down three judgements related to the contentious issue of land ownership and rent reductions on mobile masts, such as those that may occur when mobile and fixed wireless broadband operators (EE, Three UK, O2 and Vodafone etc.) attempt to upgrade an existing site.

Network builder Netomnia, which is being supported by broadband ISP partner YouFibre, has today added 11,000 premises in the Gloucestershire town of Tewkesbury to the rollout plan for their gigabit-capable Fibre-to-the-Premises (FTTP / XGS-PON) network. Meanwhile, YouFibre has just gone live in Barry, South Wales.
