Title: Boring
I like boring - same with cars - just carries on working day after day with no drama.

When combined with the telephone line the charges are amongst the best.

The only reason for the low speed rating is the (censored) local copper network.
We are very rural.

I switched to iDNet having got fed up with another provider that advertised the fastest speeds in the country, but regularly delivered an appalling experience due to oversubscribing the area.
Although iDNet are more expensive than most they promised no oversubscribing and UK based customer support. They have been true to their word, delivering a very consistent connection and providing very helpful customer support on the rare occasions where there have been issues. In my experience they do actually ring you back when they say they will!

I highly recommend them.

Here are five reasons I joined IDNet:
1. An award winning Technical Support Team available 24/7
2. Free transfer across to IDNet and conversion to FTTC VDSL2
3. A short rolling 30 day contract for my FTTC package. (Not 12/18/24 months)
4. Full line speeds obtained 24/7 even during internet peak congestion times
5. Competitive landline line rental and call packages

My transfer over to them was straightforward without any issues for both my broadband and landline which were previously from two separate suppliers - KCOM and BT. I purchased independently their recommended VR600 mk3 modem router which connected straight away and has also improved my Wi-Fi. This upgrade has transformed my internet performance… My only regret is that I wish I’d migrated across to them years ago!
Thankyou IDNet

After many moons on iDNET's various ADSL packages, starting with 5GB pcm ADSL (which was actually enough back in 2005!) and ending up on ADSL2+ unlimited, the need for more upload speed for WFH, home schooling, video calls etc. meant it was finally time to upgrade.

Contacted iDNET about 2 or so weeks back. Upgrade to FTTC 40/10 arranged quickly via email, new router arrived the next day, payments painlessly updated, cabinet switch-over date of Jan 28th was arranged and emailed to me within a few days of order.

Yesterday my broadband stopped about 11 am or so, so I plugged in new router. Some teething problems with WiFi RSS but Brian got back quickly with assistance (the Billion router needs a bit more antenna positioning care than my old Netgear) and I now have stronger WiFi than ever and have peaked about 37/9 Mbps via ethernet, so pretty much full advertised speed available.

All achieved with next to no effort required and excellent support throughout. Top marks again. This is why I stick with iDNET. A very happy customer.

Icing on the cake? In terms of price, I'd say iDNET's preium service comes at bargain price. Yeah, you can spend your life in call waiting either chasing limited-time deals to save 3 quid per month, or trying fruitlessly to get faults fixed with lesser ISPs, but for me.. I have better things to do with my time!

Having moved house away from Gigabit Hyperoptic which has been the best service of my life, I was really worried about the downgrade to FTTC and VSDL both in speed and stability. Well fortunately for me, the effective difference? Zero!

The connection has been rock solid at 80/20. I was not expecting this level of stability out of the connection, and the performance itself is good enough.

I've not needed to make use of iDNET's famed customer service because it's all been smooth sailing up to this point.

IDNet have been providing our business internet for a number of years and we can say without hesitation that they provide an absolutely first class service. Low contention rates so never a slowdown when the internet is busy and if there is ever a fault their 24/7 support is superb.

After 7 yrs of hell with Zen Internet I came across IDNet on ISP Review) I wish I hadn't. I told IDNet that I'd had a dreadful 7 yrs with Zen, hey neglected to tell me that they're re-sellers of Zen Internet broadband & phone & so deceived me into thinking that I had signed up with someone unconnected.
The sales guy walked me through signing up online, whilst we were on the phone, its the only way you can order off their very confusing, far from clear website, he made me order 2 brand new landlines (I didn't need these as already had them) & ADSL broadband which has been a nightmare.I've had several outages every single day for almost 2 weeks now, I've lost copious business & clients, not one penny of compensation offered, quite the contrary - they refused it.Their tech support is diabolical, they blame your equipment -your computer/your router/microfilters/ethernet cables etc. They had me struggling to unscrew a master socket to test my line in it, I told them I'd had a stroke & lost feeling in my fingers & was in severe pain from Cancer in my groin so it hurt bad to struggle to reach the master socket behind heavy items in my cold garage. My line was supposedly fault free yet I was getting 3.57 download speed & 0.06 mbps upload. I was abused for daring to complain, they endlessly tried to make me pay for fibre or leave. My advice - steer clear zero stars for all.

Response From iDNET - 17th Aug, 2020

We use several backhaul providers, including Zen Wholesale. Though not mentioned during the order process it's no secret. Had you asked, we would offer the information freely.
The problem here is not the backhaul provider nor the ISP.

You have an ADSL2+ service (expected speeds of 1-3Mbps down, upto 1Mbps up) You are receiving 6Mpbs down, 0.8Mbps up but are uploading large video files which saturate the upstream causing the connection to grind to a halt.

We have gone to great lengths in calls and emails to demonstrate this to you, the Support Manager has reviewed the case. The chosen service cannot support your level of usage. You are not tied to IDNet and are welcome to try any ISP for FTTP. The information provided is factual not aimed at making money from you.

We always empathise and work closely with those incapable of carrying out local tests.

We have never mis-sold or deceived you. At no time have you been abused by any member of IDNet. After the lengths we have gone to support you, we are deeply offended that you would make such a claim.

Feedback provides a valuable opportunity to review our performance and we go to great lengths to ensure all at IDNet maintain our high standards of excellence. Reviewing your case for the second time, I remain satisfied the Team carried out their duties in an exemplary manner and followed correct procedure.

Sincerely,

IDNet
